'THE VIRUS HAS SPREAD'
2011
Review By Matt Hill

Starting out in 2005 Fallen Fate describe themselves as a 'modern metal band' hailing from the from the North East of England

After selling hundreds of EPs in Hard Copies and many more through Online Downloads, Fallen Fate recorded and released their Debut Album in June 2011, named 'The Virus Has Spread'.

Fallen Fate are :
Lee Skinner | Guitars & Vocals
Piers Donno-Fuller | Guitars
John Wright | Drums
Peter Hodgson | Bass

I put this album into my CD draw with no idea of what to expect, the albums begins with an intriguing intro named 'Insurrection ' I awaited with much anticipation as to what I was going to hear, as play proceeded, guitar licks were emerging along with the pummel of Peter Hodgson's bass, as the volume increased to a crescendo we hit full throttle that leads us into the track 'downfall' I had the desire to bang my head within seconds, foot tapping was not enough to appreciate the energy that was being conveyed.
The blood curdling screams which are spawn from the vocal chords of Lee Skinner and are evil enough to make your neck hair stand and when delivered over the back drop of that chunky guitar riff during the song 'Origins Of Sin' well......all I can say is that it had the desired effect.
Throughout the album the guitar work is fast and furious and solos from Piers Donno- Fuller are of the face melting calibre and executed with great tones, a comparison that I forged was with no other than Michael Amott Carcuss/Arch Enemy.
If you like blast beat drumming there is plenty of it, the percussion levels did seem very high in the mix of this album, which I loved, no doubts are left in your mind that John Wright knows his way round the drum kit, a great display of musicianship.
The whole album contains 12 killer tracks but title track 'The Virus Has Spread' was the one that stood out the most for me, you find yourself attempting to scream along to the words 'the virus has been spread' and I was left very impressed by the guitar interplay in the song, with my only critisism being that it's wasn't long enough, although being left hungry for more isn't a bad thing.
Here is a demonstration of 4 guys with immense talent and a band that is worth keeping an eye on.
