'Calm before the storm'
2009
Review By Metal Mick (the beard) Staley

Lauren Harris is the daughter of legendary bass player, Steve Harris of Iron Maiden fame, unfortunately his talent has not been passed down the line.
Lauren is great to look at and has assembled a good bunch of musicians to support her, whose playing is top drawer, nevertheless, no matter how good the playing, poor vocals make the music incidental.
Lauren has had a great start to her career supporting the likes of, Maiden, Alice Cooper, The Answer, Korn and Heaven and Hell to name  a few, but I get the impression that Dad probably called in a few favours.
There are far much better female fronted bands out there, that given the backing that Lauren has had, would now be household names, Liquid Sky and Invey for example. These two bands work their nuts off and have more talent and we could probably add a lot more to the list.
I have played the album over and over to see if I can pick at least one stand alone track, but I can’t.
‘Get over it’ sounds like a girls’ school yard chant or Hannah Montanna does rock!
I am not going to go on as there is no point, nepotism has been at work and no one can tell me otherwise, as this stuff would not normally get past the small venues stage let alone took on by a label, but what do I know?
All the heavyweight backing that Lauren has, makes sure she will always come up smelling of roses.
If you like boppy teen rock, then buy all means buy this album, otherwise give it a very wide birth.
