'Armour'
2010
Review By Jim Suffolk

Let’s be honest from the start. How many people can honestly say they don’t love rocking out to some 80’s Motley Crue style music after a few beers?

Straight after clicking play on track 1 (Rock n’ Roll Tonite) I was instantly gripped by this album. It’s exactly what you want to hear. Epic, power chord based riffs, a crushing rhythm section and some really dirty vocals. The entire album sticks to its guns and doesn’t run out of ammo.

With artwork having been designed by the same person that did Motorhead’s, ‘Overnight Sensation’ you should already have an idea of the sound.

Aside from the first track the other standout tracks for me included ‘Sex Demon’, a fast paced, hard hitting metal song with an awesome chorus you can imagine a venue full of people shouting out. The song almost sounds like a heavy metal version of Nashville Pussy!

‘Roll Out (Or Get Rocked Out)’ is a more evil sounding song with an intro riff not far remove from 80’s thrash. Ok it might be a bit cheesy with the crowd sing-along lines placed in the song but it works really well. The songs on this album have been made for a live crowd not just people listening at home. The crowd sing-along bits are very Skid Row style.

‘Satan’s Knights’ is a cross between Motorhead and Megadeth. Hard hitting riffs and chords for the chorus, viciously fast riffs for the verse. The band really shows their influences throughout the album but this song is the best example in my opinion.

‘Magick Armour’ has an almost Dio style feel to it.

The album as a whole is very good, sure some tracks might be better than others but find me an album that’s all killer, no filler.

I recommend any fans of the 80’s metal sound to buy this album. Crossing Motorhead, Megadeth and hints of Dio style riffs surely must be worth buying.

Definately look out for any live shows these guys might be bringing us anytime soon, I know I will be!
