COVERED CALL
Thusday 7th May 2009
interview By Metal Mick (the beard) Staley

MG : Your new album ‘Money Never Sleeps’ is out now and is a really good album what are your plans for promoting it?

CC : Well, Blistering Records makes a good job with the promotion of this album. We are planning to make as many gigs we can this year.

MG : You cite such illustrious bands as, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake etc as your influences, but as you are from Sweden and there is a Scandinavian invasion on our shores at present, who would you say you look up to from that area?

CC : There are many good Scandinavian bands. If I speak for myself I must say that I really dig In Flames. They are a great live band and always deliver on stage.

MG : We would love to see you in U.K. are there any plans to play here?

CC : Not at the moment. We hope to visit U.K for sure!

MG : You sing a lot of songs that are about emotions, do you draw this from your own personal experiences?

CC : Not really, I think that the text in the songs just comes by itself. Maybe some of them are personal experiences

MG : As children, what did you all want to be when you grew up, and did any of you do what you wanted?

CC: We all have music in common of cause. But I don’t think all of us had the dream of becoming a musician. Ronny (drummer) and I work on the stock market as traders. That is not what I had in mind when I grew up. That for sure!

MG : What’s the must have thing that you take with you on tour?

CC : A laptop. To connect with the family, and just kill time behind the screen.

MG : Who is the liveliest member of the band and why?

CC : That must be Thomas Thulin (bass), he is the oldest of us. Why? He’s just a crazy guy! He’s great!

MG : If there was a moment in your life you could go back and change, what or when would it be?

CC : Hard to say, because the good things might not happened if the bad things disappeared. I don’t think I what to change anything at the moment.

MG : Everyone has an album that they never tire of listening to, what’s yours and why?

CC : I think I can turn on Europe, Prisoners in paradise and never really get tired of it. I don’t know why, but maybe I it was a good time in my life when I first heard it.

MG : When you visit the U.K. what are the things you want to do or see most?

CC : I must admit that I never been in U.K so there is many things I like to see. Like a good English beer!

MG : Describe the band in one word.

CC : Balance

MG : So what does the future hold for you guys?

CC : We’re playing at Sweden Rock Festival this summer and we will start the writing of a new album.

MG : Finally have you any message you want to pass to your U.K fans?

CC : Covered Call really like to visit U.K and hang around with the U.K fans!
