'Heartless'
2009
Review By Mick (the beard) Staley

I first met these guys at Sonisphere this year and I instantly liked them.
I admit though, that at the time I had never heard any of their material.
I received a copy of ‘Heartless’ on my return and listened to it intently, I was pleasantly impressed. I admit their style and lyrics are probably more suited to a younger audience than my 80’s rock ears, but that aside, I found them talented, with catchy sounds.
The album opens with ‘Brink of Destruction’, which is a mixture of classic and pop rock which is very upbeat. The album as a whole is easy to listen to, but I feel that if they want to be a band with longevity, they will have to write more mature lyrics as I can’t see them singing this stuff in their forties, but I am sure I don’t need to tell them that.
All in all ‘Heartless’ is a well crafted feel good album by a young band, of who I am sure we will hear a lot about in the future, especially as their music has crossover value to mainstream tastes.
