'Wolf'
Nottingham Rock City 9/5/2009
Review By Mick (the beard) Staley
aka 'Wolfman'

As the night falls and the moon rises the time draws near when the Lupus appear

Cauldren were first up, but their performance came across a bit lacklustre, this could be attributed to the very unresponsive crowd or their very laid back stage show, who knows, but whatever the reason it just did not click.
Having said that, do not let that put you off Cauldren as they do have some good material to offer, as their album, 'Chained to the Nite' proves, but as for this show tonight, it was not their best.
I like thaes guys so I reserve judgement on their live performance as they were not given a chance tonight.

Wolf have grown in stature over the last year or so and have carved out a reputation for great live shows, and rightly so.
Tonight was no exception to this, these guys certainly know how to rock and have a catologueof well written and delivered songs.
The release of 'Ravenous' has raised the bar which is no mean feat as 'Black Flame' previous to that was top drawer.
'Ravenous' has a songs that you remember every riff and word, 'Speed On', 'Voodoo' and 'Genocide' all future classics with 'Hail Caesar' a great crowd pleaser.
A nice touch on the night was to dedicate a song to Mike Alexander whose death shoked the metal world.
As the set went on, Johannes Axemans' guitar gave up the ghost, but this did not stop him as he just put it on its stand and just headbanged his way through the song.
Nik Stalvind (vocals) gave up his guitar in the end as you could not end the show without the 'Axe' playing.
These guys really give their all, Nik (vocals and guitar), Axe (lead), Richard (drums) and Anders bass, a band that will never disappoint you.
I cannot recommend Wolf highly enough, one of the best live bands around today!
